From field to farmyard, the ones by our side. 
On farms across Canada, dogs are part of the rhythm of every day. They ride along in the truck, follow us through the yard, walk the fields with us, and somehow seem to know when a little extra company is needed. Through busy seasons, difficult days, and rewarding ones, they’re always there by our side.

As SeCan celebrates 50 years as Canada’s Seed Partner, we wanted to mark the milestone in a way that celebrates agriculture, brings our community together, and supports an issue that matters to our industry.

That’s how By Our Side: The 2027 SeCan Seed Dogs Calendar began.

Got a great seed dog? We want to meet them. 
We’re inviting SeCan members, retailers, growers, and others connected to Canadian agriculture to submit their favourite farm dog photos for a chance to be featured in the 2027 SeCan Seed Dogs Calendar.

We’re looking for the dogs that are part of farm life – the ones along for the ride, there for planting, field checks, harvest, and everything in between.

Every entry will make a difference.
For each eligible entry received, SeCan will donate $50 to The Do More Agriculture Foundation, a national charitable foundation dedicated to championing mental health and well-being in Canadian agriculture.

This is more than a calendar.
For many people in agriculture, the animals around us are more than just part of farm life. They provide companionship, routine, connection, and a welcome presence during days that can sometimes feel heavy.

That connection felt especially fitting for a campaign supporting The Do More Agriculture Foundation, whose work helps build awareness, strengthen community, and connect people in agriculture with mental health resources and support.

The calendar is one small way to celebrate that sense of connection while contributing to a bigger conversation about mental health in our industry.

And the support won’t end when the photos are selected. When the 2027 SeCan Seed Dogs Calendar goes on sale later this year, proceeds will also be donated to The Do More Agriculture Foundation, with SeCan matching the amount raised through calendar sales, dollar-for-dollar.
